Added these fun photo-boards a while back to my office and I’m finally posting it =P
I started out with these supplies:
(*Important side note – The cardboard base was not a good idea for me because the wall these are hanging on are right next to my swamp cooler so they have bent from the humidity and lost the tightness for the ribbon.. I’m adding a square of thin wood board to the back to get them back to normal*)

Glued the batting and cloth on the cardboard squares…

Added the ribbon….

Took these cork-board squares I had found at Target and colored over the red flowers with a sharpie to make them black to match…

I ran out of the aqua colored ribbon so I did one of the three boards with black ribbon…

TaaDaa!!

Here’s the “organized” corner of my office now… ahhh =)

Can’t wait to finish this office so it all looks this way!
This post is partying at Today’s Creative Blog, Anti-Procrastination Tuesday’s
Here’s a little break from my recent blog neglect =)

So I finally got a washer and dryer last week (bought from a very sweet friend) and while we were installing ran into two significant road blocks =(
The first one is pretty common, and not too hard to fix, which is that the dryer had a three-prong cord and my outlet is four-prong. So I went to Home Depot, got a new cord, and with the help of a drawing from the nice old man in Home Depot and Google I was able to change the cord out the next day in about 20 minutes.
The second problem was a little more tricky. While we were trying to tighten the water hoses in the back of the washer the cold water inlet valve broke inside the washer. So I ordered the part online and it arrived this morning.
*Here is a blurry phone pic of the old/broken part and the new part.*

Thanks to the extremely well made instruction video from the site that I ordered the part from (repairclinic.com) I was able to replace the part myself in about 30 minutes (would have been less but I had a little mix up when re-attaching the water hoses that made a nice puddle of water through my hallway… it was a total blonde moment).

*And here’s a great fuzzy shot once everything’s back in place.. plus the tools and replaced parts. (Can’t forget my most often used tool… a nice dose of caffeine!)*

There aren’t even words to describe what a relief it is to finally have my own washer and dryer!!! I don’t have to haul all my laundry in my car everyday anymore! YAY!!!
Needless to say, I’ve ripped everything off beds and windows and am doing laundry ALL DAY today as celebration =D
It just occurred to me that this month is my blog’s one year anniversary/birthday!
As a celebration for all it’s done for me in the last year I’ve given it a complete makeover =D
Now all we need is some cake =P

I’ve recently stumbled upon a new mommy blog that I just love! If you haven’t heard of Rants from Mommyland hop on over and check them out! If you’re like me, anytime you find an appropriate release for the frustrations of motherhood is a definite win for me and my child. This is a great place to get a good laugh and a good realization that you’re not alone in the trials of raising your little ones =)

So I’ve been M.I.A. for a few months now and I have a lovely list (or timeline) prepared that explains why.
Here’s what has happened since my last post:
May – Moved into a new house. *much bigger space & and amazing yard!*
May – Husband took a job in Alaska and comes home every 6 weeks =( *sad and very hard on “the boy” but is very good pay.*
June – Quit nanny job and started a job at home for my dad =D *love love love working with my dad, I would do it for free, but I don’t have to =D*
July – My lovely little Volvo car went belly up =( *I’m currently driving an awesome old Buick LeSabre with no A/C because I don’t want to get another car until our debts are all paid off (which will be in the next 2 months).*
So, now that I’m home and on the computer often I can finally take up my blog again. This week I’ll be posting about my journey of building the fence and gates in our yard, fixing my new washer and dryer, and a fun photo board project for my office wall =) But for now, I’m going to get back to work while my son is napping so I don’t loose my only productive time on all play and no work
P.S. I forgot to mention that I got a new haircut =)

I’m hoping that someday I’ll get in the habit of taking pictures of all of us together (Dad, Mom and Kid) but for now it’s most always just “the Boy”… so here’s a little of what our fun Easter egg hunt was like.

And as you can see, he’s still stuck on the hat thing P=)

I’m so enjoying this new stage he’s growing into where he’ll actually pose for the camera….

(This is his Easter Bunny face, LOL)

Oh so proud of all his eggs!

Eating his victory candy on momma’s lap! Ahhh, what a great day =)

My son got a hold of this hat a few weeks ago and has worn it EVERY DAY since! He sleeps with it and everything… so pictures for the next few months will, most likely, all have this hat in them.
I just LOVE this boy!!!

He definitely owns this momma’s heart ❤
Here’s the last finishing touch to my bedroom
I found these canvas art sets at Family Dollar for buy one get one half off. Then headed to JoAnn’s Fabric and after a LONG time deciding finally settled on these two very pretty prints that match my current bed set.

That concludes my bedroom face-lift =) I actually get up and want to make my bed every morning now, because it feels so much nicer in our room. Ahhh.
I found this square lamp a few weeks ago and loved it (mainly because it’s perfect to customize over and over… plus the $4 price tag!) so I grabbed a few quarter squares at Walmart of a simple print and started up my glue gun… and literally within minutes of sitting down to start the remodel on the square lamp my brother who lives in the apartment next to me called and asked if I wanted his small lamp that he remembers me telling him that I liked a year back! So I ran over and grabbed it and did a 2 in 1 makeover for my new nightstands! =D

And here’s the one I scored from my brother…

(This one was more tricky, I sized up each side with a paper pattern first)

(Then glued it all together)

(I ironed some bias and lined all the edges with it on this one)

(AFTER)

They might not be a perfect match but with TWO new nightstands AND a lamp for each I’m one happy girl =D
